A Smartphone is one of the most fragile objects on earth and as you have to carry it with you where-ever you go, it needs some form of protection to reduce its vulnerability. This is where phone covers play a major role. Smartphones have to beoperated by hand and this leads to accidental drops whenever it is handled. A cover for your phone will ensure that such accidents will incur minimal damage upon impact. This is no different for laptops as well and it is very important to you the right type of MacBook cases for your device.

Cases in the market are composed of various materials. The most common types are comprised of either plastic or silicon. The plastic case is stiff and feels hard whereas, silicon cases give a smooth and soft rubber like texture to the user. If you are a user that deals with sweaty hands, silicon covers are the best choice for you as these provide excellent grip. For a sharp edge and a hard feeling, plastic covers are the best in the game. This means that in terms of style, plastic covers have a large variety of choices for their users compared to silicon covers.

In case of durability, plastic covers are heavy shock absorbers and thus they tend to break upon large impact. Silicon covers are very flexible and can be bent and twisted but their shock absorbing ability is not as good as plastic covers. Hence, in terms of protection plastic wins over silicon. Moreover, dust clings to the rubbery surface and this makes cleaning silicon covers extremely difficult. Silicon covers tend to get a yellow texture with time whilst plastic covers can be cleaned simply with a wet wipe.

To sum up, both these covers have their unique features alongside their disadvantages. At the end of the day it all depends on the environment the phone will be used in as well as the usability of the user.
